Do you get the sudden urge to use the restroom, especially when you don’t have an easy restroom option?  Well, you’re not alone.  Many of us experience this urge to go that seems only to occur when there isn’t a restroom in sight.  But have you ever considered trying to make cups, bottles and other miscellaneous items lying around in your car into a makeshift female urinal?  Have you ever frantically searched for the next opportunity to pull off the road and relieve your bladder?  If you have, then it’s time to face the fact that you may need a portable female urinal.

Before I invented Road Trip Potty portable female urinal, I was just like you.  In fact, I used to do the squirm and wiggle in an attempt to try and hold it another 10 to 15 minutes.  And I’m here to tell you that no matter how much I squirmed and wiggled, it didn’t change the fact that I had to pee!  What I didn’t know was that holding it only made the situation worse because it increased the chances of bladder leakage and urinary infections.  Unfortunately, many women start lying to themselves about their bladder needs before well before they understand the damage they were doing.

How Women Train the Brain That the Bladder Doesn’t Matter

I distinctly remember being a young girl in school, needing to go to the restroom but not asking my teacher for permission to leave class.  Like many girls, I avoided asking to use the bathroom because I knew it would be a hassle to try to figure out what I had missed when I was gone, and I didn’t want to call attention to myself.  What I didn’t know was that I was training my brain to dismiss what my bladder was telling me.  And I definitely didn’t know that this pattern was what a lot of other girls were experiencing.  In general, girls, when faced with stressful conditions, are less likely to tell adults that they have to use the restroom.  As time progresses, girls mature to women who have learned to ignore the need to pee, which often causes bladders challenges later in life.

What We Need to Do to Improve Bladder Health

It’s time to rewire our brains and accept that needing to pee is normal.  And being mindful of our bladder by keeping a portable female urinal in a vehicle can help.  As women, we should not accept that old option of pulling over on the side of a busy highway and squatting between opened passenger doors.  And we shouldn’t accept trying hold it just so we make a mad dash to a public restroom only to find out we weren’t fast enough.

To all the women who have been in traffic needing to pee until you couldn’t hold it anymore, it’s time to love yourselves and love your bladder!  Rather than working hard to hold it, use a portable female urinal, which will help ease the anxiety surrounding where to go when the pee needs to flow!
